Thursday Oct 29, 2009

"The thing that really makes platinum better than the alternative is its durability over time. As hard as I am on my hands I dont have to worry about my diamonds falling out. I like not having to worry about my rings, I put them on and thats it."

A unique scuba diving question….?

Wednesday Oct 28, 2009

Howdy divers! I’ve got a unique problem. I’m headed down to the Caribbean for a week with my girlfriend and wanted to do something very romantic. I’ve tracked down a first english edition of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea. Bear with me here…

I’ve had it completely sealed in acid free mylar plastic and wrapped that inside a 100% waterproof pouch. It is completely waterproof and has only a tiny bit of air inside the bags, with plenty of room to expand. My idea is to put it inside a tiny antique looking box or wrap it in cloth then put it somewhere where she will "accidentally" find it, along with an engagement wedding ring. The guides say that they’re happy to do it with me when we’re on our night dive the night before (my girl doesn’t like night dives), but my only concern is that it will float away. What do you think is the best way to secure it in place? I was thinking of putting a few stones in empty space of the box, but it still floats along the bottom (Of my bathtub), almost neutrally bouyant. Any ideas or suggestions? Another way you might do it?

PS: Will obviously not touch any coral or damage anything. Will lay it gently on crushed coral or sand in an open area.
The engagement ring is not valuable, it’s a Cousteau society ring I bought on eBay for twenty bucks. I’m not cheap, she’ll love it and I’ll let her pick out a real one she likes.

First of all, that is so cute! nice idea!

As far as the box…
it depends on how far down you will be going. If you are going shallow and can reach the bottom, I would say put it on the sand. If the box is tall enough, wrap a weight around it (the dive shop should have a weight that looks like a bungee cord, they usually clip them around the ankle.) and half bury the box in the sand…and leave it so you can still see the top. So that way, you can swim around and…suprise it’s like a buried treasure box.

Should I stay married or get a divorce?

Wednesday Oct 28, 2009

I’ve been married now for 6 years. We were married when I was 20. We had a decent relationship before we were married. I’ve recently lost weight and have much for self confidence. I’m starting to contemplate divorce again. I’ve thought about it about 2 years ago but thought I would never find someone else. At that time he was going out after work-he worked 2nd shift and I work 9-5. When I would confront him about where he was going, he would tell me he was home all night and I must not have saw him laying on the couch. Then it turned into him going to his friends house and saying he would be home around a certain time. That time would pass no call, nothing. I would call and he would never answer. Then I would here some wild story about why he never answered his phone. No lately I found out that my wedding ring is not what he told me it was. What I mean is he told me he took out a loan to buy my ring ($3,500). The reason it was so expensive was the cut of the diamond. I payed on the loan a year after we were married. Well some people starting asking if it was antique. So that made me start to think. I brought it to a jewelers and they told me it’s worth apx $500 and it’s 15-20 years old. It was bought 7 1/2 years ago. I don’t care what the ring cost, that’s not the point, he shouldn’t have told that lie. He also expects me to cook dinner every night, clean the house and do laundry. I used to be fine with that but lately I’m getting sick of it. He has recently helped a little, but I don’t know how long it will last. I just need advice.
BTW we have no kids.

I think you know in your heart that he is a lying cheating barstard and that his behaivour isn’t acceptable. Maybe before you lost weight you lacked the confidence to leave him because you felt frumpy and like you deserved nothing better than this. I am married to a bloke who is exactly the same. The only difference is that i have a child with him, and another one on hte way. He still treats me like dirt. Get out of this relationshiop before you have kids and it becomes even more complicated, horrible and messy. He doesn’t want to change so he wont. He doesn’t respect you or care about your feelings and is quite content with trampling over your heart time and time again. Dont put yourself through it any more. There aree lots of men out there who will love you and treat you with respect.

How Much Should I Spend

Sunday Oct 25, 2009

http://gentlemensguide.tacori.com/

How much you should spend is an individual decision. Start visiting stores, do some research online and find the best ring that you can get for your budget. You want to buy wise and invest well, but 2-3 months of salary is somewhere around the range of affordability for most engagement ring purchases.
