I have recently started searching for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I have had no luck at all in jewelry stores (which all seem overpriced), such as Zales, Littman, etc. I also looked at the rings on Blue Nile, but none of the settings caught my eye. After asking for some advice from her best friend and her mom, I have a pretty good idea of the type of ring I am looking for. So here are the criteria… An oval center diamond, white gold, vintage looking, and a max budget of $5000. Does this ring exist? I really need help finding it.

Long story short, my ex (girl) and I dated on and off for about 6yrs, it wasn’t until the last 4yrs of our relationship that we really started to get real serious. We talked about our future and we were even close to moving in together. One night we had a real bad argument before she was went on vacation with her family(she was gone about a month) and things got a little got pretty heated. I said some things out of anger and acted on them and walked out that door. The next morning before she left, she drop off everything i ever gave her (letters,cards,pics,teddy bears,promise ring, etc) At first i was upset and disappointed with her decision, so i didn’t talk to her for 2 months until she called me to see if she can pick up some of her stuff she left at my house (few clothes, books,pics,etc) When i saw her eyes that night it hit me how much i missed her and how much I still cared about her. we had a long conversation and she told me how much she hated me for putting her thru so much pain. I apologize and told her that instead of me just telling her how much she means to me I would show her. Of course we still kept in touch (texting, e-mail, a few favors, etc) In took me 7 months, but i finally got her the engagement ring (vintage style) she always wanted. The day that i propose to her she didn’t give an answer after i told her how she means the world to me and that i wouldn’t picture my life with no other but her. She started to cry and said how come i waited so long to do this.I explain my actions and during the time we both were living our lives, (school, work,) and she eventually met somebody younger (5yrs) than her. She told me she’s been dating this guy a few months and she knows its moving to fast for her. She told me a few months doesn’t compare to 10yrs of history we had, but that she needed time to think about it really hard. She said the whole time we were apart she taught i moved on, so she had to do the same. Now i can’t stand the fact of her being with another guy while i sit back and wait for an answer. What should I do? i feel like Im going crazy for this girl and its affecting me bad. I want to take initiative of the situation, but i just don’t know how? It’s been about a week and we still talk but should i just wait, or walk away from something i worked hard to make work. I don’t know if there is anything i can do to show her what she means to me. I feel i did everything. HELP!!
